Veteran’s Day. One of the days that I always go through playing out over and over in my mind trying to figure out the best way of explaining to my sons the extreme of what this day means to me, to my family, to our business and to our country. A day more than any other I want them to know and feel what it means to be a real life hero, a veteran and what it cost for us to live the life that we do with Freedom. My family members, and yours.
A day to honor those that have given the ultimate sacrifice of themselves for the greater good of our country. I know many people that will challenge the greatness of our country and I am not here to debate that. I believe we live in one of the greatest nations under God, despite the imperfections of many.
You know those Facebook videos we see often of the soldiers, sons/daughters/Dad’s/Mom’s returning home after deployment or being stationed away from their family? The videos that make me ugly cry. The weight of those moments are not lost on me. Those people said Yes to us, Yes to America and Yes to Freedom and paused their life with those they love for the founding principles of ALL PEOPLE ARE CREATED EQUAL AND FREE, HAVING THE SAME INALIENABLE RIGHTS TO LIFE, LIBERTY, AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS. Something I know that my very sons could decide to they are called to do. America, we aren’t always getting it right, but, I will always believe we should honor the Red, White and Blue and the men and women of all color that decided that this country was worth fighting for. All gave some, and some gave all. And God bless them for doing so.
